Follow Exiter
Exiter formed in Seattle in 2024 out of the dream pop band Shimmertraps, and they liken what they do now to a cassette mixtape left out in the sun, familiar songs melting and stitching into one another under a haze of guitar. Their arrangements run on guitars until they break down into glitchy ambience or slide into slow-burning introspection, moving somewhere else by the end. Spirit Goth Records has Bike down as the project's second single.

About Exiter

Exiter is a Seattle project working the space between alternative rock, electronic music and slowcore, where a song starts in one place and ends up somewhere it did not expect to. Formed in 2024 by former members of the dream pop band Shimmertraps, the group runs on a more distilled, restless energy: guitar-driven arrangements that break down into glitchy ambience or slide into slow-burning introspection. They liken the sound to a cassette mixtape left out in the sun, familiar songs melting and stitching into one another under a haze of guitar. Everything moves, though never in a straight line. Their record Temporary Empty was mixed by Dylan Seawright (Great Grandpa, Apples With Moya) and mastered by Dylan Wall (Feeble Little Horse, Hotline TNT, Versing), and it shifts genre without losing the thread. The grunge-fuelled title track gives way to the blistering, hardcore-tinged How/Copy, and the record closes on Dolphins Make A Heart, a dreamy acoustic guitar piece laced with fantasy synths and downtempo textures.
