Hi, I'm Josh. BIRP.fm has been one person and a lot of listening since 2009. It's free, it has no ads, and I'd like it to stay that way.
Why I'm asking
For a long time the site paid for itself, through ads, then submission platforms, then Vinyl Post, a record club that put my favorite songs from BIRP.fm on playable vinyl postcards and let me do this full time. None of those work any more, so I took a full-time job, and BIRP.fm gets evenings and weekends.
Every month is still a thousand songs heard and cut to a hundred. Supporting the site supports that time. Enough support, and this stops being what's left over at the end of the week and becomes part of it.
