Nuclear Dragon

The Mast's "Nuclear Dragon" is taken from the Brooklyn duo's new album. Bob Nardi filmed the video and Haleh Liza, one half of the band, edited it. The lyric is a walk through the grounds of the United Nations, down to Turtle Bay to see the nuclear dragon the good guy slayed, the knotted barrel of a gun, the twelve-foot elephant in the garden of all nations and the sword beaten into a plough, then on to the South Meadow and the maidens round the fountain, all of them made of bronze and stone, dreams frozen under the sun but still alive in her. The Mast pair Liza's voice with Matt Kilmer's percussion and electronics, and this track is a good example of the hypnotic, rhythm-driven pop they make. The clip keeps things simple and lets the song's pulse carry it.
