Aboukir

Aboukir is the Paris rock project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Ralph Maruani. He spent a decade sharpening his production skills as the electronic act Flabaire before going back to his rock roots, and the first Aboukir album, Digital Introversion, arrived in 2021 as a one-man band. Inspired by the likes of Pink Floyd, David Crosby and Khruangbin, it pays tribute to the psychedelia of the 60s and 70s, and the critics came around to it. Two years after the debut came a second record, Change, a fitting title for something written and recorded through a period of great turmoil in Maruani's life. To bring it to an audience he put together a quartet, which played its first concert in Paris on 16 December 2023.
