Earlier this month, Anti-Records announced the May 20th release of label-newcomer Andy Shauf’s forthcoming LP, The Party.

The Magician is a lofty, yet straightforward track that will put you in a special place. Stereogum calls it a, “lovely, luxuriant thing,” and you’ll likely agree. It carries with it a sound well-steeped in the works of Paul Simon and the late Elliot Smith.
The release of The Party comes on the heels of his 2015 effort, The Bearer Of Bad News, which caught the attention of NPR’s Robin Hilton, who dubbed it, “one of 2015’s most breathtaking albums.”
Andy Shauf is set to perform select dates across North America this summer, opening for Anti- labelmates case/lang/veirs, the collaboration between singer-songwriters k.d. lang and Laura Veirs, and Neko Case of The New Pornographers.
