Tuesday, September 2, Avant Gardener Courtney Barnett announced a string of new dates in October and November. This comes two months after her previous travels stateside, which has seen the Australian indie-revivalist come out of the woodwork to win over the hearts of 90s indie fans and lovers of good music alike. Jump down to the bottom to see upcoming US dates.
As Barnett has spent the last few months of her summer buzzing back and forth across North America playing show after festival after show, she somehow found the time to record a cover of "Cannonball" by The Breeders at The AV Club office. Interestingly, to psych herself up, Barnett listened The Breeder's original rendition of the song the morning of the first day of recording her forthcoming debut LP. Listen to her cover of the 1993 classic below.
On September 30, Courtney Barnett will be releasing The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas on limited pink vinyl as a part of RED Distribution's "Ten Bands One Cause" and in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can preorder the limited pink copy of her double EP on Insound here.
